Dental Degree
After graduating from Pasco High, Dr. Smiley became a graduate of the University of Washington (UW) with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. The next venture during his education marathon was to complete dental school. He earned his DDS from the UW School of Dentistry.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Medical Degree - UW School of Medicine
Following dental school, Dr. Smiley continued directly into a 6-year oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) residency training program at the UW. As a part of his residency, he earned a Medical degree at one of the best medical schools in the country – the UW School of Medicine. Dr. Smiley's general surgery and OMS training was spent at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Children's Hospital, and the UW Medical Center, where he was able to participate in life-saving surgical care for very complex patients. He also received exceptional training and experience in wisdom teeth removal and complex dental implant procedures.
Staying current on the latest research is a priority for Dr. Smiley, so he is a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Medical Association.
